Peacock and Verity Community Spaces aims to return a much-loved Edwardian tearoom to the building
From its opening in 1914 for many years, the first floor of 15 Silver Street was home to a high-class Edwardian tearoom, not unlike Betty's (although ours opened five years earlier, perhaps that's where Betty's got its inspiration...).
As part of the refurbishment we will be bringing refined dining back to the building, with teas, cakes and light meals served in a refined manner for a touch of historic class to sit alongside the heritage grocer's.
To ensure we are getting the details right we are working with local and national heritage businesses and attractions. Beamish are providing a great source of inspiration and support.
