Explore Masham
Peacock & Verity isn’t open yet, but there’s still lots to explore in and around Masham.
We’re incredibly proud to be from Masham
If you’re planning a visit to Masham, there are two important things to know!
It’s actually pronounced ‘Mass-am’, not ‘Mash-am’.
You’d be forgiven for thinking Masham was a village. We have the community spirit of a village but we’re actually a market town, with the largest market square in Yorkshire due to our long history of trading sheep.

There’s so much to do in Masham
Even though Peacock & Verity isn’t open yet, there are still loads of places to visit in Masham.
We have not one, but two breweries! Theakston Brewery and Black Sheep Brewery are both in the centre of town and offer fascinating tours.
We’re lucky to have an array of incredible pubs in Masham. Pay a visit to The Bay Horse, Black Bull in Paradise, Black Sheep Brewery, The Bruce Arms, The Kings Head, or The White Bear while you’re here.
If you’re after a cuppa rather than a pint, there are loads of wonderful cafes too!
And we’re home to lots of independent shops and galleries.
