Get behind the scenes of the Channel 4 documentary series all about Peacock & Verity
Channel 4 and Emily Dalton from production company Factual Fiction documented as we begin to transform 15 Silver Street into Peacock & Verity. From uncovering the original shopfront to stripping away damp plaster and restoring the Victorian ovens, the series captures the heart and hard work it’s taking to breathe new life into a building that’s been part of Masham for hundreds of years.
We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has played a part in the series - especially our amazing volunteers who gave their time so generously, and our skilled team of local builders and craftspeople who have started to bring our vision to life.
Spoiler alert: we’re only just getting started!
Peacock & Verity isn’t open yet. It’s a complex restoration and the Victorian shop is just one part of a much bigger picture. Alongside it, we’re creating a heritage centre, a space for training and events, a Post Office counter, and four affordable rental flats for local people.
This is a project designed to benefit Masham and our surrounding communities for generations to come and we're so proud that Channel 4 recognised the importance of what we're trying to achieve.
